Lieuwens injury comes at a time when the Sabres are already thin at goaltending with co-starters Jhonas Enroth and Michael Neuvirth both sidelined. The injuries forced the Sabres to call up both Lieuwen and Matt Hackett from their AHL affiliate in Rochester.
