KHARTOUM adidas nmd r1 primeknit tilbud , June 20 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) Representative in Sudan Noriko Yoshida on Tuesday called on the international community to provide greater support for refugees in Sudan.


"I call for greater donor support for refugees in Sudan, specifically for host communities that have generously extended their assistance to new arrivals even with often limited resources," said Yoshida when addressing a celebration marking World Refugee Day with South Sudanese refugees in Al Nimir camp in Sudan's East Darfur State.


She commended the government of Sudan for working closely with UNHCR, the local host communities in Sudan, state governors, and Sudan's authorities at all levels, for what they provide for the South Sudanese refugees.


"Without your support and efforts adidas nmd r1 dame , the lives of countless refugees would be much harder. Your generosity certainly does not go unnoticed," she said.


She further called on the South Sudanese who fled to Sudan not to lose hope for the future, saying "I am asking you to believe in the future. Peace will return to South Sudan and you will finally be able to return home. Until such a time comes, we, UNHCR and Sudan, will do our best to stand with you."


Yoshida also commended the U.S. support for the UNHCR in Sudan and welcomed the support of the American people to the refugees.


The United States is the largest contributor to UNHCR in Sudan, which has provided 28.4 million U.S. dollars in 2017 adidas nmd r1 tilbud , including the support for the South Sudanese refugees in the affected states.


Sudan is hosting around 600,000 South Sudanese refugees in camps distributed in four states of the White Nile, South Kordofan, East Darfur and Khartoum.


On Aug. 15 last year, Sudan officially decided to consider the South Sudanese fleeing the war in their country as refugees, and opened the door for the UN to provide aid and funded programs.


Famine has recently been officially declared in South Sudan, attributed to reasons including the civil war and the economic collapse in the new-born state.
